Looking at the main components of euro area inflation, food, alcohol & tobacco is expected to have the highest annual rate in February (15.0%, compared with 14.1% in January), followed by energy (13.7%, compared with 18.9% in January), non-energy industrial goods (6.8%, compared with 6.7% in January) and services (4.8%, compared with 4.4% in January).
Latvia has the highest annual inflation for the month at 20.1 percent, followed by Estonia at 17.8 percent and Lithuania at 17.2 percent. Estonia's inflation peaked at 25.2% in August 2022 and has been over 10% since Jan 2022.
Slovakia followed the Baltics with annual inflation of 15.5 percent in February. Finland's annual inflation stood at just 7.9 percent.
The lowest annual inflation in the euro area last month was recorded in Luxembourg at 4.8 percent, followed by Belgium at 5.5 and Spain at 6.1 percent.
