Jaak Järve wins Toronto Estonian Chess Club Spring Chess Tournament Eesti Elu

The Toronto Estonian Chess Club held their 5 round Spring Active Swiss system tournament (30 minutes per player)on April 13th, at the Estonian Baptist Church . Ten players entered the tournament with the hope of winning at the “Game of Kings”. The players ranged in age from nine to eighty-three. Ernest Sinko and Jaak Järve tied for first, with 4 points, but Jaak won on tie-break. Second place went to Ernest Sinko. There was a four way tie for third place between Brendan Munro, Jaak Triefeldt and Parsa Petersoo and Alar Petersoo with three points. Jaak Triefeldt won third place by tie-break.

Arta Petersoo 0 points
The tournament was the first for both Parsa and Arta Petersoo . Parsa played exceptionally well, tying his father Alar for third place. We expect both boys to only get better with future tournaments.
