Conference registration includes:
Friday, May 15 afternoon briefing by Congressional staff on cyber security challenges in the new Capitol Visitor Center (CVC). This is followed by audio-visual presentations at the Heritage Foundation on efforts to memorialize victims of communism. A reception follows with a selection of Baltic beverages and Georgian wines.
Full-day conference on Saturday May 16 featuring keynote address by Latvian President Valdis Zatlers. Saturday’s program also highlights four panels, each dealing with a specific look at the Baltic region. Discussions will range from a regional threat assessment, regional partnerships and potential solutions in addressing these challenges, policies of the new U.S. Administration and Congress towards the Baltics, along with diaspora relations and citizen diplomacy.
Saturday conference, with lunch and coffee at the Renaissance M. St. Hotel at 1143 New Hampshire Avenue, NW, in Washington, DC. To register, please fill out registration form and return to JBANC by May 11, 2007. The registration fee is $165. Late registration (after May 11) is $175. Student rate is $90. Students who are members of either the American Latvian Youth Association (ALJA) or the American Latvian Association can register for $20 and ALA will sponsor the difference.
