Dear Son,

People say nothing is sure, except death and taxes. People also say neither is fun. So far, I only know they’re wrong about taxes. They’re fun. We went for a walk the other day. Your mom said, “Look, the snow’s still on the ground and April’s almost over.” Well, I had a shock. April’s over and I haven’t even thought about taxes. I ran home and began the process with a standard e-mail.

Then you all have to move to Estonia, where taxes are simple and transparent. Also, the majority of tax returns are done over the internet and tax returns are made in weeks. The tax rate is also flat at 24%.

... but those of us who can't afford to invest in GICs get wonderful "bonus" cheques from our favorite financial institution, ETCU for the past couple of years!
