Mayor, United Way's Frances Lankin deliver pizza by train to TTC subway customers CNW

TORONTO, Oct. 5 /CNW/ - Toronto Mayor David Miller and Frances Lankin, President and Chief Executive Officer, United Way of Greater Toronto, will deliver pizzas by subway train to Bloor-Yonge Station tomorrow at 12:30 p.m.

At the station, they'll help TTC employees sell the slices -and hundreds more - to raise money for the TTC's United Way Campaign.
Each fall, TTC employees sell pizza slices in 30 subway stations on Wednesdays to raise money for the United Way of Greater Toronto. This year's
goal for the TTC's entire campaign is $900,000.

What: The Mayor and Ms. Lankin arrive at Bloor-Yonge Subway Station o a southbound subway train; the train doors open and the two,
holding pizza boxes, leave the train. They then step behind the
TTC pizza sales table and begin handing out the slices.

When: Wednesday, October 6, 2004 at 12:30 p.m.

Where: Yonge-Bloor Subway Station, southbound platform

Why: To support the TTC's annual pizza sales in the subway, raising money for the TTC's United Way Campaign. Pizza slices are sold every Wednesday until October 27th, inclusive. This year, the TTC's goal for its entire campaign is $900,000.
