The Ecomuseum zoo welcomed the Montreal Estonian Lasteaed with blue skies and bright sunshine on Saturday, May 12th. We observed so much wildlife, bears, deer, otters, wolves, lynx, porcupine, snakes and fish, all native to Quebec’s St. Lawrence Valley. Our tour was led by our very own EEE (Estonian Ecomuseum Expert) Kersti-Ly Sunne Biro. Her enthusiasm was inspiring and her knowledge of wildlife terminology very impressive indeed. How many of us knew that a snowy owl is called lumekakk, a river otter is called saarmas or that a fisher is called kalastajakärp?
