(Rte 327 North)
Description: Join like-minded Montreal Estonians and friends for an exciting day of golf and camaraderie. Tee-off starts at approximately 11:00 a.m., joint supper and door prizes for all. Everyone is welcome, whether you are a novice, an experienced duffer or a ‘Tiger’. Type of game: Each foursome plays their best ball.
The Montreal Estonian Society has the pleasure to announce that the National Estonian Foundation of Canada (NEFC) has graciously offered to support the upcoming MES Golf Tournament and Supper with a significant monetary award. Namely, the NEFC is offering a single prize comprised of a two-year scholarship ($1,000 per year) which, however, retains the following conditions:
1 – the winner is a permanent resident living in Canada and is of Estonian heritage (or at least one parent is of Estonian heritage);
AND
2 – the winner is registered for his/her second year of study in a
recognized school of higher learning OR is receiving specialized
training in music, sports or in another area of specialty.
The NEFC prize will be awarded to the eligible golfer whose ball lands ‘closest to the hole’ on the designated Par 3. Apart from this prize, there are numerous other prizes (e.g. the foursome with the lowest score, a second ‘closest to the hole’, etc.) and all participating golfers will go home with at least one ‘prize’. A raffle will also take place during the supper.
For non-golfers who wish to take part in the dinner only, the fee is $35. The menu is as follows: Entrée: Feuilleté de champignons sauce suprême; Salade maison; one of the following two choices (signified one week in advance): 1 - Jambonneau de poulet farci aux pommes sauce au vin blanc or 2 - Longe de porc farcie aux pommes sauce à l’érable; and Dessert: Gâteau chocolat Suisse.
The Honorary Estonian Consul for Quebec, Maître Maurice Forget, who is also the Chairman of the Conseil des arts de Montréal, will be attending the supper. Come out to meet him as well as to support the golfers.
Please pass on this information to all Estonians in the Montreal region, but especially to young Estonian golfers.
NB: As a result, the Registration deadline has been extended to July 14, 2006.
Best Regards,
Your MES Executive
