With regard to the proposed movement of the Bronze Soldier from Tõnismägi to a more suitable location: it would behoove us to consider some hard numbers.
There were 170 monuments erected to honour the Estonian War of Independence in Estonia prior to Soviet occupation. According to the 2002 book „Vabadussõja mälestusmärgid“ of those 149 were either dynamited or ordered destroyed by Moscow, 13 violated, defaced or desecrated and a mere 8 left to stand.
How does the Kremlin intend to address and atone for this historic wrong?

Unfortunately, it's useless for negotiating with an adversary schooled by (irrational) marxist dialectical thinking who, today, thinks that Russia has a destiny that shouldn't be impeded by a small and inconsequential nation that stands in its way to the sea.
Imagine the response, if you took your information and laid it on Putin's desk with a request -- "Put yourself in our shoes." -- Now there's a scene for a Fellini film.
There's not much good to be expected from Russia until ordinary Russian's start seeing themselves as victims of communism and a process of de-Sovietization in attitudes begins. That will take time.
