My beautiful church. FB (7)

My beautiful church. It was dedicated on March 17, 1878 by Scottish Presbyterians. In 1951, it was purchased jointly by Estonian and Latvian Lutheran congregations. My parents were married here. My brother and I were Christened and confirmed here. I spent every Saturday here for Girl Guide meetings and every Sunday for Sunday school. I was married here. My sons were Christened and confirmed here. 2 of my grandparents and my father were sent on their final journeys to heaven from here. My church! ... Time marches on. Soon a new congregation will build their memories at your altar, to the glory of God. We will celebrate our last service here in October. I will bawl even more than I did today!

Nothing about it was hush-hush. The church was never put on the market for sale. An offer came pretty well out of the blue and it was the right offer at the right time to act on it.
The congregation (340+ due paying members) were all informed.
It IS a shame, but with attendance so low, it isn't sustainable. With a more suitable (size wise) venue, we will be in good financial shape to carry on into the future.

Amazing. Obviously if you were not aware, you are the reason. The congregation is shrinking in numbers and moetary support. All congregation members were made aware with notices, meetings, etc. Economically it was not sustainable.
Vana Andres sold!? For how much? What will be done with the money? Why was it sold? Who decided this? And why now?
