The Narva border checkpoint will allow people and vehicles entering the country from Russia to opt for a green lane for "nothing to declare," in a substantial relaxation of rules.
The new system, effective November 12, was created to reduce delays at the border.
People and vehicles entering through the green lane are to be monitored on the basis of profiling, and checked on the case of a justified suspicion. Fines for failure to declare goods range up to 1,200 euros.
