Montreal Estonian Playwrite - Annable Soutar presents
"Sexy Concrete III: Abandoned"
A bilingual play in three one-act episodes
January 11th - 21st, 2010
Segal Centre
Sexy Concrete is a political thriller about the past but it is inspired as much by today's news headlines that document with shocking frequency falling chunks of concrete from Quebec's infrastructure.
Sexy Concrete III: Abandoned - To sue or not to sue, that is the question for the families either bereaved or injured after the collapse of the Concorde overpass. Money is their number one obstacle, even after an attempt to solicit funds from one of Montreal's richest residents. Meanwhile, the clock is ticking, counting down to the deadline for making a decision, after which there will be no turning back. In the final episode of Sexy Beton, actors Brett and Maude take their investigation all the way to the top. An interview with none other than the ex-premier of Quebec reveals that the truth about the Concorde collapse is indeed out there, but will it offer any hope of redemption?

Ukrainian Cultural Centre, 85 Christie St.

This excellent documentary on the crimes of Communism is likely of interest to all the communities that support Tribute to Liberty and the Canadian memorial to victims of totalitarian Communism. It is important that the Toronto screening of this documentary is well publicized - it is a film that should be seen by as wide an audience as possible.
The Economist calls the film "the most powerful antidote yet to the sanitisation of the past. The film is gripping, audacious and uncompromising."
