Sixth and Spring Books of New York will be publishing Maie Landra's book Knits from a Painter's Palette. Modular Masterpieces in Handpainted Yarn this November.

Maie Landra of Koigu Wool Designs creates beautiful wearable art at her Ontario farm, where she also oversees the manufacture of Koigu's world-famous handpainted wool, a family business of making one-of-a-kind hand-dyed yarn. Her spectacular, colourful and indelibly original knitwear designs have won her a devoted worldwide following.

Knits from a Painter's Palette chronicles the rich family story behind Koigu Wool Designs, detailing how Maie's Estonian heritage and art training led her to develop a signature style of hand-dyeing yarn. It traces the development of the business, which Maie now runs with her daughter Taiu from their farm in a remote section of Ontario. The book also showcases more than twenty-five stunning garment patterns using Koigu's signature modular knitting techniques.

Detailed instructions, gorgeous full-colour photography and helpful tips from the author accompany each design. This is the book knitters have been waiting for!
The 128 page book is priced at $24.95 (US). For order information please contact by e-mail , or by fax 646 336-3960.
