Giles Crellin is in Estonia as Project Consultant to the project known as "Noored Kooli," set to launch this February with the first participants in schools this September. He is trying to contact Estonians studying abroad to make them aware of the opportunity to make a real difference in their home country.
Crellin e-mailed that their mission statement is "to raise the profile of teaching in Estonia by bring exceptional graduates into schools and helping them to become outstanding leaders and teachers in all fields.
The project intends to do this "by adapting a very successful programme in the UK and USA known as teachfirst and teach for America respectively. The project is open to graduates under the age of 29.
Those behind the project are "due to sign an a document of understanding and intent with the Ministry of Education and are supported by opinion and business leaders such as Hansapank and Skype."
They are "looking for exceptional Graduates who will be under 29 years-old in September and who are capable and committed to the mission whilst demonstrating competencies" which are outlined in their mission statement.
That last is available by contacting Giles Crellin by e-mailgiles@nooredkooli.ee or by regular mail at the foundation: Noored Kooli, Pärnu mnt 139,11317 Tallinn .
