Selecting a Christmas tree is very much a matter of taste.

Some like a so-called latvakuusi, which is basically the crown of a much bigger tree, while others prefer a small forest spruce with sparse branches.

Cultivated and trimmed spruces, becoming increasingly popular these days, can be as thick as the Christmas trees of the Donald Duck comic books - one cannot see through them.

Caucasian firs are quite another thing. These modern trees are no spruces at all, even though they pose as Christmas trees.
