Prime Minister Stephen Harper will be the guest speaker at a fund-raising dinner supporting the Tribute to Liberty initiative in erecting a permanent memorial commemorating the victims of communism.
Located in Ottawa it not only will be a reminder of the brutality of communism and the suffering born by millions around the world but also a tribute to liberty and hope that Canada provided to refugees escaping the totalitarian regimes.
The Memorial will be located between the Library and Archives of Canada and the Supreme Court – a prime location that will undoubtedly capture the attention of the public.
