The U.S. Embassy, the American Chamber of Commerce in Estonia (AmCham) and the Baltic American Freedom Foundation (BAFF) are pleased to invite candidates to apply for the 2012 Estonian American Innovation Award. Applications will be accepted until October 31, 2012.

This annual competition is open to Estonian residents, firms, and organizations that have distinguished themselves through innovation in collaboration with a U.S. counterpart. The winner will receive 10,000 euro; and the runner-up, 5,000 euro. Specific details and the application are available at http://www.innovationaward.ee/...

We welcome nominations in a broad range of sectors, including business and entrepreneurship, academic and scientific research, health care IT/medicine and biotech, environment, energy and power, the arts, media, education, and civil society. The decision criteria will be based on several factors, primarily creativity, impact or clear potential impact of the innovation, and demonstration of collaboration with a U.S. entity.

• Andrus Alber, Chairman of the NASDAQ OMX in Tallinn and President of the AmCham
• Andres Trink, Member of the BAFF Board and of the Estonian banking and finance community
• Robert Gilchrist, Deputy Chief of Mission, U.S. Embassy, Tallinn, Estonia
