OTTAWA (CBC) - Prime Minister Stephen Harper has arrived at Rideau Hall to ask the Governor General to suspend Parliament in a bid to avoid a confidence vote that could topple his minority government.
Harper, who waved to onlookers after leaving his limousine, will ask Gov. Gen. Michaëlle Jean to prorogue, or suspend, the current parliamentary session.
