President’s Cultural Foundation announces competition for Young Athlete’s Prize

The First Lady’s Foundation of the President of the Republic’s Cultural Foundation announced the competition for the Young Athlete’s Prize, with maximum prize money of 50,000 Estonian kroons.
The prize is intended to acknowledge young, under 21-year-olds with excellent academic achievements. The prize is earmarked and intended to cover training and competition costs and is being financed by Nordea Bank.
Applications will be received until 30th October 2009. Candidates for the prize may be nominated by the young athletes’ coaches, instructors, schools, sports clubs, sports associations and the members of the First Lady’s Foundation’s advisory board.
In order to apply for the prize, applicants must submit a written application with personal data and a short biography; the basis for requiring the grant (description of the relevant programme or athletic career path); the young athlete’s educational results (copies of certificates, study book, etc.); a letter of recommendation and assessment from the school; recommendations from coaches, instructors, sports clubs or sports associations.
All the documents related to the application for the prize shall be sent to the First Lady’s Foundation at the Office of the President of the Republic (A. Weizenbergi 39, Tallinn, 15050).
The prize shall be awarded for the first time.
