Lea Kõiv, ETCU chairperson
The Estonian (Toronto) Credit Union (ETCU) has a long tradition of serving the Estonian community. This in part thanks to a highly qualified Board of Directors, made up of consummate professionals who dedicate considerable hours after their every day endeavours to serve our community on a volunteer basis.
ETCU would like to pay tribute to Peeter Einola, who recently retired from the Board after 30 years of service. Peeter is well known throughout the Estonian community for his dedication and his volunteer efforts. Peeter joined the Credit Committee of ETCU in 1980 and became a member of the Board in 1994. He held various positions on the Board, becoming Chair in 1996. He served as Chair until 2004, when he was succeeded by Toomas Marley.
Peeter was the driving force behind a series of difficult changes and improvements which have been implemented over time to ensure that we are able to confront the challenging demands of today’s competitive marketplace and increasingly complex regulatory framework. Peeter’s diligence, sound judgment and tireless efforts have earned him a high degree of respect from all who have had the pleasure of working with him.
In accordance with the credit union’s bylaws, the Board is empowered to appoint an individual as Peeter’s replacement.
We are pleased to announce the appointment of Peter Poolsaar to the Board. Peter is well known in the Estonian community and is a graduate of the University of Waterloo’s Engineering program. He is a seasoned IT professional and has considerable experience in this field, including with major consulting firms. He is currently Managing Partner of Blue Catalyst Inc., a firm he founded in 2003.
The Board is pleased that an individual of Peter’s calibre is joining the Board.
