With a two-week infection rate per 100,000 people, a number which is used to imposes travel restrictions, Estonia is in second place. The Czech Republic leads with 1,562 to Estonia's 1,465.
As of today, 658 coronary patients are treated in Estonian hospitals, 1,358 infected patients were added during the day. A new record of positive samples was set the day before yesterday - a total of 1,957 positive tests were identified.

During yesterday, a total of 11,128 vaccinations were performed in Estonia, which is the largest number of vaccinations performed in a single day so far, the Ministry of Social Affairs announced.
In total, more than 122,000 people in Estonia have been vaccinated with at least one dose, of which 50,691 have received both vaccine doses. To date, 31% of people over the age of 80 have been vaccinated with at least one dose across Estonia.

Svante Pääbo is a half Estonian-half Swedish researcher who has published recently on genetic sequences which protect against severe Covid-19 (see below) and also on genetic sequences which are associated with increased illness severity.
