Some conspiracy theories on the M/V Estonia sinking
18 Feb 2005 Adu Raudkivi
Here I was having coffee with friends, when one of them added information which I hadn't heard before on the sinking of the ferry M/V Estonia. "Americans were transporting two large trucks filled with military electronics from Tallinn to Sweden where they were supposed to be loaded on two American transport aircraft waiting at the Stockholm airport but the ferry Estonia sank (or was sunk)," said my friend.

We had heard of the recent revelation by a Swedish customs officer Lennart Henricksson, written up by Heikki Tann in Eesti Elu on December 11, 2004, where the Swedes were allegedly smuggling two Volvo station wagons and a van filled with military electronics into Sweden, but this additional information was over the top.

I doubted the information, but my friend insisted - telling me he'd provide proof from the web tomorrow. I didn't wait until the next day, I hit the web when I got home and discovered a wealth of data including a feature film " Baltic Storm " starring Jurgen Prochnow ( of “Das Boot” fame ) , Gretta Scacchi, and Canadian actor Donald Sutherland.

When my friend phoned the next day he introduced me to a site called " Freedom Underground " and in there was an article by a Christopher Bollyn with American Free Press (using the same letters AFP as Agence France Presse, the French news agency ) titled "Ferry Carried Secret Soviet Weapons." My friend had quoted correctly, the question is whether Bollyn is correct.

The two large trucks had been escorted to the ferry at Tallinn by the Estonian Military. The transport aircraft waiting had been hired by the U.S. Consulate in Stockholm, and the source was Jutta Rabbe, a German reporter/filmaker who had written a book about the sinking and the screenplay for "Baltic Storm," which she also produced. Where Rabbe's authority comes from is now a matter of translation.

In Bollyn's article, Rabbe explains that the ferry Estonia was sunk by a cabal of Russian (Soviet) KGB officers called the Felix Group, which included Russian President Vladimir Putin and Interior Minister Ivan Ivanov, who didnt want Russia's military technology plundered.

Bollyn and a young female by the same last name also acted in "Baltic Storm" (surprise). The director of the film has directed other ... well, ... left-leaning films. Jutta Rabbe is now looking for the whereabouts of an aircraft.

I love conspiracy theorists - reality is suspended, indefinitely.
