The Pille Lill Music Fund arranged over 33 concerts during the concert-season 2004/05. Timeless classics were heard in 5 cities around Estonia and over 30 interpreters shared their talent.
The Festival in Tallinn is concentrated to a short period, giving the public the possibility to hear Estonia’s best interpreters, while enhancing the cultural scene in the capital. Again, over 30 interpreters will be given the possibility to perform. The target audience includes all age ranges (besides small children). Concerts are free for school children.
We live in an extraordinary time – the world is smaller and an enormous deluge of information surrounds us. The superficial is exalted and the artificial is available on every street corner: eyes are rendered bloodshot by violence on television and constant background music. Living with this can dull our minds and considerably diminish the quality of life.
In our opinion classical music is the key to keeping our senses alive and helping us to be ourselves. Beautiful sounds have the power to bring tears of joy and sadness to our eyes at the same time. By opening ourselves to emotions are we able to "live" in every sense of the word. Thus can we build a better world. We need light in the darkness of today. And this light is music.
We invite you to visit Tallinn in the most beautiful month – August. Come and get acquainted with Estonia’s best musicians! Ticket prices vary from 25 – 120 kroons (£1 - £5 ; 2$ - 10$) per concert.
