TÄNAVALT: (From The Street) Arctic Beasts As Posterboys For Winter Fuel (2)
Eestlased Eestis | 06 Feb 2012  | Riina KindlamVaba Eesti Sõna
A banner seen in front of a Neste gas station in Tallinn this week. The smaller print reads: Finnish winter diesel. The best up to -32° C. And on the bottom left: Sõidame soodsalt, Let's drive profitably, i.e. for less. (Soodne = advantageous, favorable, profitable. Soodne hind is a good price. ) Diesel vehicle drivers are living on the edge here, since -32° is precisely the forecast low for most nights in Eesti for the first week of February. Next door at the Estonian-owned Alexela gas station (Neste Oil is a Finnish company), a similar banner had been hung above the snowbanks. Instead of a
põhja/põder(reindeer), its product promoter is a jää/karu(polar bear).

Right you are! Aitäh! Losing my English?..... The quick reflex answers for sure. No joke.
Glad to hear the writing is appreciated. Most people here would surely think the things I highlight are bizarre (and some do), but it all depends on where you're coming from.

Riina, enjoy the musings from Eesti. I was thinking that in thic case "soodne" would translate to "economic" so "soodsalt" would be "economically", so let's drive economically.
You do have a great eyefor what eestlased would consider mundane, but interesting to outsiders.
