This year for our 10th annual VEMU fundraising evening, we are looking forward to seeing our old and new friends again in person at Tartu College.

Throughout the evening, we will hear about the growth of VEMU today and also look to its future. Our keynote speaker is Kristian Kirsfeldt, creative director of the Estonian design bureau, Velvet. We became good friends with Kristian over the past year while working on the new VEMU brand and now, we continue our work together with Velvet planning a future permanent exhibition for VEMU. Three representatives from the design bureau will be visiting Toronto in May to get to know us better. Over the course of the evening, you will hear all about where we are with the upcoming exhibition and the kinds of questions we are looking to answer. What should a modern, successful and inspiring museum look like? What stories will the future VEMU tell? To whom and how? And how does it all fit into our future museum building?

Ukraine has also been on the minds of all of us for two months and VEMU cannot ignore this issue. We will be opening the exhibition of Ukrainian photographers “Ukrainian Frontline Photography” at Tartu College in May which can also be viewed during the VEMU fundraising evening. The culinary side of the event will also connect with Ukraine as the dinner will be prepared by Baby Point Lounge from Toronto, which specializes in Ukrainian cuisine. We will also have “Estonians Stand with Ukraine” t-shirts made by VEMU for sale, of which proceeds will go directly to Ukrainian aid.

Music will be performed by pianist and composer, Erik Kreem and accordionist, Matti Pulkki, both students of the University of Toronto.

Register before May 7th online (https://www.vemu.ca/index.php/...) or by calling the Tartu College office at 416 925 9405.

Tickets are $200 and include admission, dinner and donation. If you wish to purchase a t-shirt, it is an addition $25, of which $15 will go directly to Ukrainian aid.
