New eaves, soffits and downspouts together with the new roof and insulation on the Estonian House Grand Hall roof.

Every building requires maintenance and repairs. Finally after 35 years, the Estonian House grand hall has a new roof. The Friends of Estonian House are pleased to announce that they have transferred over to the Estonian House the funds that were donated in support of the roof project. These funds were given to the Estonian House Talgulised as a result of the application they prepared for the City of Toronto grant in February, 2017, which was successful.

The donations include the Leili Nurm mälestusfond, AKEN, the Ethnographic Society, Anu Sõrra (in memory of Leili Nurm), Alli Vähi, Salme Vesi, Mai Kreem, Margus Tae ja Milvi Loite, proceeds from the Friends Cafe and an anonymous donor. The grant required matching funds from the applicant, and provided $67,800 towards the project. This brings the total that the Friends contributed to the Roof Project to $75,065. A fundraising campaign was not endorsed by the Estonian House Board. In April, 2018, the board undertook the project, and it was completed in July, 2018. The Friends are grateful to the donors and to the City of Toronto.
