As you enter Estonia's capital by ferry, the image you get is one of romantic Europe. But Tallinn's skyline – dominated by an eclectic mix of church spires – creates an illusion at odds with Estonia's reputation as the 'least religious' country in Europe, and possibly the world. On top of a hill in Tallinn's Old Town lies Estonia's oldest church. On this cold autumn day, more than 700 years after it was founded, St Mary's Cathedral still stands strong against a clear blue sky.
