Political Debate marks TORONTO 1's ongoing Municipal Election Broadcast Coverage and lead-up to Election Day Special Program
"Toronto Elects" on Channel 15

TORONTO, Oct. 29 /CNW/ - Craig Media's TORONTO 1 today announced the joint TV and print news presentation of The Mayoral Debate on Tuesday,November 4, 2003 and Election Day coverage details.
The Mayoral Debate is part of the newly launched local TV station's ongoing coverage of the Mayoral and City Council races and will be broadcast from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. from the John Bassett Theatre in the Metro
Convention Centre. Toronto Tonight anchor Ben Chin will serve as moderator of the debate that includes a panel of seasoned Toronto Star reporters and editors Bob Hepburn, Royson James and Vanessa Lu and Toronto Today's anchor
Wei Chen. All five Mayoral candidates will participate in the debate.
TORONTO 1 Vice-President and General Manager Barbara Williams says: "This is the last televised debate between the Mayoral candidates. Being less than a week before election day places the TORONTO 1/Toronto Star Mayoral Debate at a critical point in this exciting issues-packed race towards Mayor."
TORONTO 1's The Mayoral Debate will receive an encore presentation at 11:30 p.m.
On Monday, November 10, TORONTO 1's Toronto Today wakes up the city at 5:30 a.m. and updates voters as they head out to the polls. From 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Toronto Tonight will air Election Day highlights along with the
program's usual coverage of the GTA. From 8:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., Toronto Tonight anchors Ben Chin and Sarika Sehgal will host the one hour special, Toronto Elects, providing up to the minute news from the polls around the city
and coverage from various campaign headquarters
During the station's regularly scheduled Monday Night Football starting at 9:00 p.m., live updates and screen crawls will keep viewers informed of the latest poll tallies.
