U.S. Ambassador to Estonia Michael C. Polt hosted the opening of the U.S. Secret Service office today. The opening of the office, the first in the Baltic region, will allow the Secret Service to work closely alongside its law enforcement colleagues from Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania.
From its new office in Tallinn, this storied agency will work to combat cyber and financial crimes that impact our nation's financial infrastructure while also continuing to fulfill their traditional executive protective duties. Numerous law enforcement officials and other luminaries will be in attendance at today's opening; in addition to Ambassador Polt, Estonian Minister of Justice Mr. Kristen Michal, and the visiting U.S. Secret Service Assistant Director A.T. Smith will address those gathered at the event.
