No doubt some new faces for our readers: from the left are Tiina Toomet, Tallinn representative of the Crimean Estonians' Society; Mare Litnevska, chairman of the Ukrainian Estonian Society in Kiev and Iri Luts, member of the board of the Estonian World Council from Connecticut.
Singers from the island of Kihnu provided some welcome entertainment during the Estonian World Council symposium in Tallinn on April 3rd. NB - they are not dressed in locally woven woolen skirts (seelikud) and knitted sweaters (kampsunid), for on Kihnu these treasures are called kördid (singular = kört) and troid (sing. = troi) respectively.
