Anything tha keeps issue of Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania, their precariious geo-political position, Moscow's practically daily threats and what stance should Canada take on this is a welcome initiative. Doesn't matter weteher its the Grits, Tories or NDPrs that do the discussing. As long as it finds interest among some politicians. There was no "silence" during last year's Bronze soldier affair. It keeps being brought up probably by an opposition party acolyte, and van Loan hater.

I'll endorse anyone who takes a proactive position in encouraging dialogue on this issue. We need to build a relationship between Canada and The Baltics and this seems to be a good step in the right direction. It would be great to see more of this type of dialogue in the future.

Do we really need to see a repeat of the silence that occured during the Bronze Soldier crisis to understand this? Active engagement to build awarenss among our politicians is our best line of defence!
