Wells’ success as an author can now be measured by the fact that the translation, “Jänki seiklused” has sold out its first print run. Peeter Sarevet of the publisher, AS Mats, informs us that this took place in the early summer. Some gentle pressure is being considered to get Douglas to write a sequel...
The Estonian movie-making world is also interested in bringing the book to the big screen. A proposal seeking financing is circulating. Douglas wrote in a recent e-mail that while there is nothing definite yet, the challenge has been taken up, and provided a few links to the idea, as expressed in the Estonian print media: http://www.hiiumaa.ee/index.php?idc=1041121100027521000&q=1>
Unfortunately, until (if) Douglas finds the time and desire to pen a follow up to his adventures we can only guide those readers interested in his work to his English language original book, and its American publishers, Xlibris in Philadelphia.
By far the easiest way of purchasing “In search of...” is on the Internet. Some people, chary of on-line purchases, unfamiliar with the ways of the web and leery of using credit cards may wish to consider direct purchases, which, however, are more costly, and take longer.
