What the heck is going on is Vana Andres congregation moving, the church been sold or what?
It has been sold.
... this is a beautiful church!
Pity to see it sold. Not surprised though. Estonians aren't seen much in church, apart from Christmas and Easter.

Seems like it was sold hush hush ... I don't know that the sale was up for discussion anywhere. This seems odd to me. An important Estonian buidling is sold by a small group of people. Isn't anyone concerned? Doesn't anyone care?
Is St. Peters church next?
Is this the future of the Estonian House? A small group of people will decide the future of the house and the rest of us will have to live with it?
Doesn't seem like much of a community anymore...the last gasps. How sad.

Nothing about it was hush-hush. The church was never put on the market for sale. An offer came pretty well out of the blue and it was the right offer at the right time to act on it.
The congregation (340+ due paying members) were all informed.
It IS a shame, but with attendance so low, it isn't sustainable. With a more suitable (size wise) venue, we will be in good financial shape to carry on into the future.

Vana Andres sold!? For how much? What will be done with the money? Why was it sold? Who decided this? And why now?

Amazing. Obviously if you were not aware, you are the reason. The congregation is shrinking in numbers and moetary support. All congregation members were made aware with notices, meetings, etc. Economically it was not sustainable.
